Meaningful Membership
At New Heights, we believe that the New Testament demonstrates that local churches practiced meaningful membership. In addition, we believe membership provides many benefits like allowing church leaders to fulfill their task of shepherding the church, providing the opportunity for spiritual growth under the guidance, accountability, and authority of the church, and challenging believers to use their God-given spiritual gifts alongside others God has placed in the church, among others.
How to pursue membership at New Heights:
- Introduce – To begin the process of pursuing membership, we want to get to know you better by you filling out a membership introduction form (PDF) and participating in a introduction meeting with a pastor.
- Discover – Periodically, we offer a “Discovering New Heights” class to provide more information about our church and what membership entails. This is an opportunity for you to primarily get to know us and can be attended before or after completion of this form.
- Covenant – Upon recommendation to the congregation from the pastors of New Heights, we invite you to publicly confirm our Statement of Faith and Church Covenant. After this point, the congregation will then affirm the Lord’s will in adding you to our membership.
